Music at the MoviesWe're pulling out all the stops for this great event, which will feature the Paramount Theatre's celebrated "Mighty Wurlitzer" pipe organ and one of the greatest - and funniest - silent movies ever made, Buster Keaton's The General. Highly acclaimed concert organist Christoph Bull, who has been University Organist and Professor at UCLA since 2002, will play his own original score to The General. Bull's dramatic score, which blends seamlessly with the train chases and breath-taking stunt work shown on-screen, will add color and excitement to Keaton's comic masterpiece. Bull will also join the orchestra on the second half of the program for a performance of Saint Saens' powerful "Organ Symphony", a work widely recognized as the main theme in the 1995 Academy Award-winning movie Babe. This combination of classic and popular film, pipe organ and orchestra will make this event a uniquely Paramount Theatre experience! http://www.oebs.org/page/march19-21.htm

Proof that love of Art Deco isn't just for luddites
Meet Jeffrey Stephenson, Sailor, Engineer, Accountant, IT Director, Land Baron and creator of extraordinary Art Deco inspired computers. Meet Jeffrey in person at the Exploratorium, February 11, 12 and 13 for the "Rods & Mods" show. You can see his work and meet like minded computer customizers. The ADSC delivered a quick Q&A with the designer (via email and Facebook as we aren't luddites either - not that there's anything wrong with that . . .). Read more about this artist and his work in our Deco Life section.
